YELLOW CHICKEN FLOORCLOTH

I intended this to be a floorcloth. The chickens derive from a children's book illustration, but I added the floating squares.

CAROUSEL HORSE

This is a carousel horse by Allen Hershell from the Greenport, NY, carousel. I made a photocopy of a photo I took, then painted in acrylics over the photocopy. Notice the similarity of this horse to the Picasso horse in "The Blue Rider" in the FAKE! series.

YELLOW FIGURE

I don't know where he came from. I did this right after the Picasso ceramic, so the eyes are a bit like that.

MISS GAUGIN THE SCHOOL TEACHER

She started as a copy of a Paul Gaugin self portrait, but quickly morphed into this schoolmarmish figure. I added text from Gertrude Stein, and some really random faux math to the blackboard behind her.

Lisa Sylvette

When I met Lisa in a photography class, I was delighted to discover that she looked startlingly like Sylvette David, the girl who modeled for Picasso in 1954.This is an image I drew in Adobe Photoshop, based on a photograph I took of Lisa.
