RED PAIL

Traditionally we think of portraits of faces. I find that other parts of the body are just as telling. Here a young child in a dress up tutu explores the contents of the red pail.

HANDS, FISH, ENAMEL PAIL

As above, a portrait of two young children playing with toy fish and a bucket.

RED TULIPS, PURPLE HAIR

A purple wig, silver gloves, a ballet outfit and a bunch of fake tulips. Another ambiguous portrait.

MAGNIFIED EYE

August, again, holding a photo magnifier. I love how the scribbles on his palm echo the calligraphy on the paper behind him.
